Entomology (ZOOL-Z 373 and Z383) 5 credit lecture and laboratory
Entomology is the study of insects and their relationship to humans, the environment,
and other organisms. Entomology is both a basic and applied science and contributes to
such diverse fields as agriculture, chemistry, behavior, health, ecology, forensics,
and medicine. The study of insects serves as the basis for developments in biological
and chemical pest control, food and product storage, pharmaceuticals, epidemiology,
conservation biology, and a variety of other fields.
